It's Tea Dance Time

A quite different post from me today. I am writing this while snacking on a sandwich and just. Finished sound check.
I just happen to be out today on a trip with my mum, auntie Sandra, Robert and Roberts parents.

My auntie holds ballroom and sequence dancing every Wednesday, Saturday and Thursday.

So today is a special occasion.

As you can tell from these photos Nantwich Civic Hall is a massive place with a beautiful dance floor for any function.

The tables have been decorated with roses and people have arrived.

The cakes have gone down a treat with all the guests and my singing went just as well as hoped.

During the interval cakes served on cake stands we're placed on each table along with tea and coffee being served, to make this tea dance special.

The cakes were eaten very quickly (with a few on the floor. Oops), and lots of compliments towards what had been served, some saying it was more than what they expected.

The floor and hall itself look very different with all the lights turned down and the special effects played.
Only downsides I would think is if a drink gets spilled everybody else will spill but the Bar staff are very good when dealing with spillages.

Overall the whole afternoon was a massive success with a great turn out! Everybody was so lovely and obviously enjoyed others company.

Everybody I talked to loved the whole idea of 'afternoon tea' dances instead of night dances. Obviously this concept suited older people more as they could not come out/make it at night time.

From what I know from Sandra this was only a one-off but seen as so many people loved this idea. Who knows? Maybe there will be many more of these dances to come, hopefully with more tea!

The whole experience was an enjoyable one for me and everybody involved. Nobody had to worry about a thing and was planned out well ahead of the date.

Disadvantages: The music is modern, upbeat, and ballroom and Latin sequenced dance based. Obviously this will not be to everybody's cup of tea but to the people that love this kind of thing, will love everything that is there for them!
